Wanstead & Woodford u3a is part of the UK wide Third Age Trust which has over 1000 self governing branches around the country. We are also part of the London Region of u3a.

u3a is an excellent place to meet new friends, learn new skills, develop interests, and have fun.

We have more than 500 members with new ones joining every month. Anyone can join and everyone is welcome. There is no age limit with most of our members no longer in full time employment.

All our activities are run by our members on a voluntary basis. We hold monthly meetings at the Memorial Hall, Woodford with high quality speakers covering a wide range of topics. We organise theatre trips, outings to stately homes and country parks, and operate almost 50 groups where members meet to share their knowledge and interests. Our groups cover a diverse range; from walking, flower arranging, pub lunches, ten pin bowling, bridge, poetry reading, and Tai Chi.
